  •                                              "BFK the Baby-Sitter"

Well, I met the 23 year-old girl Saturday night.  And yes, just like I thought, I played the role of baby-sitter.

Hanging out with young and cute naive chicks does have its advantages.  I can't think of what they are right now, but they must exist. Why else would I hang out with them every now and then??  Uh, good question.

But the disadvantages....oh my God!  Playing baby-sitter can be quite tiring.

Yes, she was DEFINITELY a virgin.  Good church-going girl who is devoted to Jesus.  Nothing wrong with this.  And she was an attractive girl.

But just the CONVERSATION was kinda dull.  The girl was not too self-absorbed like a LOT of young Korean-American girls can be.  But she definitely did not know life; I felt like singing the song "Come Back When You Grow Up Girl, You're Still Living in a Paper Doll World."  I had no intentions of letting anything romantic happen between us, but I did hope at least for stimulating conversation.  Nope.  All she did was keep asking me what scandalous deed this one Amer-Asian (half-Korean, half-white) guy we both knew, and who liked her, had done. (And speaking of which, isn't it weird how Koreans keep bumping into each other over the years????)  I never answered her since they both go to the same church and Bible study.

When we left Cafe' Noir around midnight, I saw that my car, parked in the shopping lot across the street in front of some Chinese restaurant, had been towed.  I called the gangsta dude from my Korean-speaking Bible study, who happened to be at nearby Baden's in Annandale watching the Korea-Japan game.  He drove us to the towing place, and after shilling out the $100, we left.  I apologized to the girl for the whole mess.  She said it was no problem and even slipped $50 into my hand when I paid the fee.  Unchivalrous guy that I was, I took it after a brief protest; my wallet was low on cash.  I'll have to treat her to an expensive dinner next time.

As I drove the girl home, I looked at her, and saw a genuinely nice innocent girl.  "Hey," I said.  "You got yourself an 'oppa' (my most hated word) now, okay?  If you need anything let me know."

"Thanks, oppa," she said smiling in her own girlish way.

You're probably the only kind of girl who WOULD be safe around me, I thought to myself.  There was no way I was even gonna THINK about making a move on this girl.  Sure, she was pretty and cute and nice and all....but even with the prettiest and cutest of girls, sometimes when I look at them, I feel like I took the anti-Viagra pill; no physical chemistry whatsoever.  Plus, she was so overly trusting of me....and didn't understand that when I usually take a girl to dinner that I can often be a dog; even if there had been chemistry, how COULD I take advantage of such an innocent trusting kid???

After dropping her off and kissing her on the cheek (which made her red), I hung out with my gangsta friend and his friends at Baden's.  Then I went home around 1:30 am.  I thought about calling Sung Yi in Korea but didn't.  Sung Yi had said a trip out here from Korea would be impossible now because she has to start her new job soon.  Rather than talk on the phone with her and get us both thinking things we didn't need to be thinking, I got on the computer briefly and then went to bed.

I guess innocent girls aren't your taste... i would expect most guys like a girl w/ some experience with the opposite... like carrying a convo... knowing what to and not to talk about... stuff like that... girls appreciate the same thing...
